 Maxwel Cornet, a winger for Burnley, is reportedly a target for Chelsea, according to reports in the English media.


After the Clarets were demoted to the Championship, the Ivorian is eager to leave Turf Moor, and he has a clause in his contract that allows him to go for £17.5 million this summer.

While Cornet played fairly well for Burnley last season, scoring nine goals in 26 league games, most Twitter users don’t believe he has the skills to play for Chelsea:

It should be noted that manager Thomas Tuchel may not necessarily be looking to sign Cornet in order to bolster his offensive options.

The 25-year-old can play in more than one position thanks to his experience as a wingback, and having him in the team would be advantageous.

Having someone like Cornet to competewith Ben Chilwell might not be a terribleidea as Marcos Alonso and EmersonPalmieri could both depart Stamford Bridge.

Tuchel confirms Chelsea have a ‘Problem’ as 9 players out

 According to latest reports, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has admitted his side have a problem with the amount of players they have out of action. The Blues have been affected by injury problems in recent weeks, with the west London side now having multiple players testing positive for Covid-19 within the last week.  He was only able to name 17 fit first team players in their matchday squad for the draw against Wolves on Sunday.
